Who We Are - What We Do:

The Kiwanis Club of White Oak Golden K was chartered July 13, 1989 with 25 members. The club, which currently has more than 60 members, focuses on serving the needs of the children of Newnan and Coweta County. The club provides some direct services to children and also supports other organizations and activities that provide services to children and their families.

  • The Young Children Priority One Program serves pre-school children by providing financial and other support to organizations such as Alliance for Children's Enrichment and Stepping Stones.

  • The Youth Services Program serves the needs of school-age children. Direct service in this program includes mentoring children with special needs and assisting other organizations in conducting activities such as Very Special Arts Day and Special Olympics. The club contributes financial and other support to numerous youth organizations including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Youth Soccer, and the Newnan/Coweta Boys and Girls Club.

  • The Service Leadership Program includes the club's establishment and sponsorship of a Key Club at Northgate High School, Builders Clubs at Smokey Road and East Coweta Middle Schools, and a K-Kids Club at Welch Elementary School.

  • The club currently provides a scholarship each year to one graduating senior at East Coweta, Newnan,  and Northgate High Schools.

  • The Club is also dedicated to providing community service through a wide variety of volunteer activities.

  • The Club raises funds for the children's and community activities it supports through pecan sales, an annual golf tournament and working with the Kiwanis Club of Newnan at the Coweta County Fair.  One Hundred Percent of the profits gained from our fund raising activities go directly to the children's and community activities we support.  None of the funds we get from public fund raising activities can be used to benefit the club or its members.

  • The members of White Oak Golden K are all men and are either retired or in a business that allows them to attend a mid-morning meeting.  Although the members are mostly retired and range in age from mid-fifties to mid-eighties, they are all working energetically to improve our community.  We enjoy good fellowship in our meetings, in our volunteer activities, and in our fund-raising projects.  Anyone interested in joining us in serving the Newnan/Coweta community, is invited to attend one of our meetings and look us over.
